The company's president, Carles Ruiz Novella, received the award from the head of the police region, Chief Superintendent Daniel Pérez. The Generalitat Police also publicly congratulated two skiers from Boí Taüll who collaborated in a mountain rescue in the 2023-24 season.
The snowfall and the constant work of the technical teams on the slopes have allowed the ski areas to be open for up to 134 days, from December to April. Complementary activities, such as the offer of amusement parks and sledges, outings with retrac machines and rides with ski lifts, together with the enhancement of the gastronomic offer have allowed to recover the influx of previous years. The resorts are already working, within the Pirineu 365 project, in the summer season to promote activity in nature and the high mountains all year round.
The snowfall recorded during the month of March and the work of the track preparation teams at the Ferrocarrils tourist facilities allow us to ensure an Easter with the resorts open until April 21. Among the proposals are the Easter Egg Gymkhana in La Molina and Vall de Núria, the musical Vermut in Vallter and the parties to bid farewell to the season in Espot Esquí, Port Ainé and Boí Taüll.
The maximum accumulated thicknesses thanks to the latest snowfalls range between 120 and more than 300 cm of snow at high altitudes, depending on the resort. The six FGC tourist resorts will have recreational and sports activities for all audiences, such as children's workshops, DJ sessions, gastronomic offerings and social races.
Ferrocarrils will present the wide range of activities offered by the mountain resorts, tourist trains and the Parc Astronòmic del Montsec. During the show, from 28 to 30 March at the Montjuïc exhibition centre, FGC will present the latest tourist transport season news.
The six ski and mountain resorts managed by Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya plan to open their ski areas until Easter. With 28 days of the season ahead, winter sports enthusiasts will be able to enjoy unbeatable conditions thanks to the abundant snowfall recorded in recent weeks.
The resort's most emblematic open event, with a dynamic and spectacular format, will take place this Saturday, March 29. The sporting event will be held on the Boardercross track, in the Vaques area.
The six Ferrocarrils resorts, together, plan to open almost all of the ski areas this weekend. The good condition of the slopes, the constant work of the station staff and the forecast of more snowfall predict a good end to the season with the ski areas in optimal operation until Easter.
